You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) explaining how much your mental health care will cost. Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a health plan or are not seeking to file a claim with their plan an estimated cost of services.

You have the right to ask your health care provider for a GFE before you schedule services. If you recieve a bill that is at least $400 more than the estimate of your GFE, you have the right to dispute the bill.
